1 + cos(2β) = 1 + ( 2cos^2 β - 1 ) = 2.cos^2 β

(or)

1 + cos(2β) = 1 + ( 1 - 2sin^2 β ) = 2 - 2sin^2 β

= 2 ( 1 - sin^2 β ) =2.cos^2 β
