What is the value of a^3+1/a^3 if a+1/a=4

(a+1/a) =4

Cube on both sides,

(a+1/a)³ = 4³

a³+1/a³ +3(x+1/x) [x×1/x] =64

a³ +1/a³ +3(4) (1)= 64

a³ +1/a³ +12 = 64

a³ +1/a³ = 64-12

a³+1/a³ = 52

the simple trick is

a³+ 1/a³=4³- 3(4)
= 64 - 12
= 52
