Given :

The diameter of the pipe = d = 50 cm

The roughness height = 0.25 cm

To Find :

The value of friction factor

Solution :

h = Δ f × \dfrac{L}{D} × \dfrac{V^{2} }{2g}

where:

h = head loss

f = friction factor

L = length of pipe work

d = inner diameter of pipe work

v = velocity of fluid

g = acceleration due to gravity

So,

Friction factor = Δ f = \dfrac{D}{l}

                        = \dfrac{50cm}{0.25cm}

                        = 200

Hence, The Friction factor is 200   Answer
