The value of gas constant R is 8.314J/mol.K. Gas constant is nothing but the volume (V) occupied by n moles of any gas has a pressure (P) at temperature (T) in Kelvin. It can be represented as,

P V = n× R× T  

where R is known as gas constant

The above equation is also used to represent the ideal gas law or equation of state. 5 % of the normal gases as predicted by the famous gas law follow gaseous state.
