Lord Curzon pull forward the partition of Bengal which happened on 16th October 1905, but it was actually planned much before on 19th July. Partition means separation. This partition separated Muslim in eastern parts from Hindu in western part. Orissa had the western side of Bengal and Assam had the eastern side of Bengal. This led to a province in 1874. They followed the “divide and rule” policy. The Hindus always dominated Bengals business.
