Solution:

Median when number of observations are even : mean of two middlemost numbers

Since the two middle most numbers are x+2,x+3

So, Median=\frac{x+2+x+3}{2}

                  =\frac{2x+5}{2}  

We are given that the median of the following data is 27.5

So, 27.5=\frac{2x+5}{2}  

27.5 \times 2=2x+5  

55=2x+5  

50=2x  

25=x  

Hence the value of x is 25
