ie, x + 5 = 10x - 50.

Subtract (x + 5) from both sides of the last equation above. Result: 0 = 9x - 55, from which, by adding 55 to both sides of that equation gives:

9x = 55. Dividing both sides of this equation by 9 gives the value of x, ie, x = 55/9, ie, x= 6 & 1/9 which is 6.11111111……..
