The natural vegetation of Ladakh is very limited and windswept. Most of the slopes are barren. Some points on vegetation are given below:
- Pastures: A few alpine pastures are found in the higher terrain with mosses.
- Summer trees: Fruit giving trees are found in summers are apricot, apples and walnuts.
- River Valley: Warmer slopes near rivers have a few willow, cedar, popular, cypress and yew tress.
