Concept

To calculate the volume of any cyinder followinf formula is used

V = pi r^2 h, where r is the radius of the object and h is the height of the object.

If the cylinder is hollow then the formula reduces to

V = pi (r2^2 -r1^2) h, where r1 is the inner radius and r2 is the outer radius.

Given

r1 = 10/2 = 5 m

r2 = 12/2 = 6 m

h = 42 m

Find

We have to calculate the volume of the given cylinder.

Solution

Since,V = pi (r2^2 -r1^2) h

Therefore, putting the values from the given date, we have

V = pi * ( 6^2 - 5^2) * 42

= 3.14*(36 - 25)*42

= 3.14*11*42

= 1450.68

Hence the volume of the given hollow cylinder is 1450.68.
