Given :

★ First case :

  • Force = 5N
  • Displacement = 2m

★ Second case :

  • Force = 100N
  • Displacement = zero

To Find :

Work done in both cases.

Solution :

⧪ Work done is defined as the product of force and displacement.

  • It is a scalar quantity having only magnitude.
  • SI unit : J (joule)

Formula : \underline{\boxed{\bf{\orange{W=F\ d}}}}

  • W denotes work done
  • F denotes force
  • d denotes displacement

First case :

➠ W = F d

➠ W = 5 × 2

W = 10 J

Second case :

➠ W = F d

➠ W = 100 × 0

W = 0 J
