The worst situation I have faced outside work is answering people whom I am not interested in talking to. There was an instance during a family function when I did not know most of the people around me. So, naturally, I was not interested in talking to them. My mother had gone to help the hosts with making various arrangements. I tried to keep to myself by sitting in a corner and reading a book.

Suddenly, there was this group of elderly people who came towards me and asked me what my name was and whose daughter I was. When I told them the answers to their questions, they wanted to know if I knew who they were. Not knowing what to do or say, I just smiled at them. They introduced themselves, but I was still clueless as to who they were because I did not know whom they were referring to. Finally, one of them said that this was the problem with people of the present generation and that they did not even know their family members. This was the worst situation I faced recently asit left me feeling really embarrassed.
