We have been given a table of continuous function containing four points (0, –8), (0, 2), (–8, 0), (2, 0).

Now question says to find the x-intercept.

We know that x-intercept is obtained by plugging y=0 into given function then solve for x.

Or just find the point from table where y=0.

We see that there are two points (-8,0) and (2,0) having y-coordinate 0.

Hence there are two x-intercepts x=-8 and x=2.

Or you can also write (-8,0) and (2,0) in point form.
