The theorem on equal ratio are

if a/b = b/c

Then using componendo - divdendo

which is = a+b/a-b = b+c/b-c

The example of this can be
if x/y = 2/3 then find the value of x+y/x-y

the solution of the above query will be
given x/y = 2/3

using componendo - divdendo rule

x +y/x-y = 2+3/2-3 = 5/-1

Answer:

If a/b = c/d, then a/b = c/d = (a + c)/(b+ d)

This property is known as theorem on equal ratios.

If a/b = c/d = e/f = ... (finite terms) and if l, m, n, ... are non-zero numbers such that

lb + md + nf + ... ≠ 0, then each ratio

= (la + mc + ne + ...)/(lb + md + nf + ...)

This is the general form of the above theorem.

Hope it helps :)
