Thermit Reaction

•Reaction between Iron Oxide and Aluminum is known as Thermit Reaction or Alumino-Thermit Reaction

•These reactions are very exothermic in nature,release lots of heat energy. Such that,iron is given out in it's molten state

•It is used in machinery parts and for joining rail tracks

•Equation:

Fe2O3(s) + 2Al(s)====>Al2O3(s) +2Fe(l)

Answer:

The thermite reaction is the reaction of metal oxide with alluminium acts as reducing element and the reaction is highly exothermic .

The chemical equation is

Fe2o3 + Al = Fe + Al2o3
