1. The lowest & densest layer of the earth's atmosphere. 

2. The extents of this layer is about 18km above the 
equator ,but only about 8km above the two poles.

The Thermosphere extends from about 56 miles (90km) to between 310 and 620 miles (500 and 1,000km). The Thermosphere is considered part of Earth's atmosphere, but air density is so low that most of this layer is what is normally thought of as outer space.
