The  force  acting  perpendicular  to   the  surface  is  thrust.eg; when we  apply  force  on  head  of  a  drawing  pin  to  fix  a  poster  or  a  knife  to  cut  fruits.SI  unit  of  thrust  is  N  or  kg m/s²  and  it  represents  the  amount  of  force  required  to  accelerate  1  kg  of  mass  at  rate  of  1  metre  per  second  squared.

Force  per  unit  area  is  called  pressure.Unit  is  N/m².

P=F/A

P =  Pressure
F=  Force
A-= Area
