The water, warmed by the sun, turns into vapor (evaporates), and passes out through thousands of tiny pores (stomata) mostly on the underside of the leaf surface. This is transpiration.

It has two main functions:

cooling the plant and pumping water and minerals to the leaves for photosynthesis.

Answer:

Transpiration is the process where plants absorb water through the roots and then give off water vapor through pores in their leaves. An example of transpiration is when a plant absorbs water in its roots.

Transpiration is the evaporation of water from plants. It occurs chiefly at the leaves while their stomata are open for the passage of CO2 and O2during photosynthesis. ... But air that is not fully saturated with water vapor (100% relative humidity) will dry the surfaces of cells with which it comes in contact.
