What is speciation?

Speciation is the process of formation of some new species from an existing species.

What is transformation speciation?

In case any ancestor species gets modified into a new species then it is called as transformation speciation.

It is further divided into two categories:-

1. Phyletic speciation:- In this type of speciation the ancestor species goes change into new species by gradual changes in thousands of years.

Examples:- Eohippus => Mesohippus => Merychippus => Pliohippus => Equus

2. Quantum speciation:- In this process sudden major changes is seen in ancestor species and then that immediately goes changed into new species. There is not going to be any connective links in this category of speciation. Actually this is the result of major mutation.
