Answer ...
Transition capacitance
- Occurs basically when PN junction is in reverse biased condition
- In reverse biasing situation it acts as an dielectric ..
- The junction capacitance now will be termed as Transition capacitance as PN junction now acts as a parallel plate capacitor..
Diffusion capacitance
- When the PN junction is forward biased a capacitance larger than transition capacitance comes into play and that's the diffusion capacitance!!
- Diffusion capacitance occurs in a forward biased p-n junction diode.
- Can be termed as strong capacitance too...
.........The main point of different..........
- Diffusion capacitance occurs at forward bias condition
- Transition capacitance can be seen in reversed bias ...
