The motion in which all the particles of a body move through the same distance in the same time is called translatory motion . There are two types of translatory motions : rectilinear motion ; curvilinear motion .

Motion can be classified based as follow

1 - Object moving in a straight line.

2-Object moving in a circle.

3- To and fro Motion of an object.

Before we go ahead You need to understand the word Body or System of particles....

We can understand this with the help of an example as The individual part of a car is a Particle...for example: Here Car seat , engine , stearing , windows , wheels etc...are the particles of car..when we combined them together these particle , A system is so formed Called CAR...i.e, Whole CAR here is a System of Particles...We use the word BODY for the same(System of particle)...These words can be used interchangebly...

Now lets Discuss the Motion When an Object is moving in a Straight Line...

-》Rectilinear Motion - Rectilinear is the one in which an OBJECT moves in a staright line.
-》Translatory Motion - Translatory motion is the one in which an OBJECT moves in a straight line.

Here you Observe that there is no Change in the Definition of Both Rectilinear and Translatory Motion...in both type of motion we see that OBJECT travels in a straight line....

But there is a difference between them...The only difference Between them is the OBJECT...

Here OBJECT may be either POINT or BODY(System of Particles)...

Now we can Change our Definition only replacing with these words in place of OBJECT...

So

-》 In Rectilinear Motion , Object is a POINT wheereas In case of Translatory Motion Object is a BODY...

Rectilnear Motion is the one in which when point moves in a staright line...For example : Suppose you are observing a car or any Paricle which is approaching towards you from Distant( about 500 meter or 1 KM) in a straight path...Though Whole car is System of particle (Body) but You will find that A Point is approaching towards you in a straight line...So As point is approaching towards you in a straight path...This straight line motion of a Point is the Rectilinear Motion here...

Translatory Motion is the one in which when BODY moves in a staright line....For Example...You observe this in your daily life...Any Object say Car passes you in a road which is approching or moving far away from Short dustance( 10 mteres or 40 meters)...You will see Body ( System of particles ) is moving in a straight line...Here you Cleary observed the Whole Body is moving in a straight line...So such Motion when a BODY is moving in a starigjt line is known as Translatory motion...

You can imagine any Body or particle motion in a straight line that Occurs around you...I just simply take CAR as one of the example...

Thus...

-》 Translatory motion is the one in which Body moves in a staright line..Example Moving car in a staright road , A person moving staright on a road nearby you...and so on...

Hope this help you...n sorry for the English...
