The process of loss of water through tiny opening in the underside of the leaves of plants is called transpiration. It is important for big size plants because transpiration controls moisture. When a plant is big, it has big length roots, which sometimes absorb a lot of water. This increases moisture. To control the moisture level, transpiration plays a big role in big size plants.
