Tree cover definition

According to the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change in India forest cover is defined as patch of trees other than the trees that come under forest cover and they should have a less than minimum measurable area of 1 hectare.

Our responsibility to enhance tree cover

Trees provide us with a lot of benefits. Such as

• They are natural air purifiers because they provide oxygen and take up carbon dioxide.
• They act as noise barriers and reduce noise pollution.
• They provide shade and food.

Therefore, it is our responsibility to enhance the tree cover as much as we can by planting as many trees as we can and protecting the already grown ones.
