Tropic movement :
The movement of a plant in the direction of a stimulus or away trom it is called tropic movement or tropism It is said to be positive if it is directed towards the source of stimulus and negative if directed away from the source stimulus.
e.g. geotropism, the tropic respose towards gravity.
Nastic Movement :
Nastic movement are non-directional responses to stimuli (e.g. temperature, humidity, light irradiance), and are usually associated with plants.
The movement can be due to changes in turgor or changes in growth.
Decrease in turgor pressure causes shrinkage while increase in turgor pressure brings about swelling.
