when the beam of light pass through a solution and because of its particles size that is more than 100 nanometer the scattering path of light becomes visible to us...and this is called as tyndall effect...
for the tyndall effect the size of particles will have to be enough large to scatter light...

When a solution scatters light passed through it it is called Tyndall effect. It mainly happens in colloidal solutions.
