when a strong beam of light is passed through a true solution, we can not see the light unless the eyes is placed in the path but when the same beam of light is passed through a sol it became visible. In this case of a sol is that the light scatters from the surface of the colloidal particles and reaches our eyes. this is called TYNDALL EFFECT.
