The motion of a body or a particle in a circular track or path is called uniform circular motion.

In uniform circular motion the speed is constant or uniform but their is change in direction of the body at every point that's why uniform circular motion is an example of accelerated motion.

Property of circular motion :-

  • The direction changes at every points.
  • The direction is tangential to the points.
  • The circular motion is always an accelerated motion.
  • The centripetal force is act when a particle moves on a circular path towards it's centre.

Example of circular motion are :-

The movement of electrons around the nucleus of an atom.

The movement of a particle on a circular path.

The rotation of a tied string.
