In Ancient India, Vajji was the league of neighboring clans which included the Licchavis and one of the principal Mahājanapadas.


The Vajj territory belonged to the north of the Ganges in Bihar and extended up to the Madhesh region. Maithili and Sanskrit were their common languages. Hinduism , Buddhism  and Jainism were commonly practiced religions by them.
