what is valence shelll electron pair repulsion theory ?
Anushka1981:
VSEPR theory is actually a model used in only chemistry to forecast the geometry of individual molecules from the no. of electron pairs surrounding their central atoms. It is mainly based on observable electron density rather than mathematical wave functions and hence unrelated to orbital hybridization, although both address molecular shape.

Valence shell electron pair repulsion(VSEPR) theory is a model used in chemistry to predict the geometry of individual molecules from the number of electron pairs surrounding their central atoms. It is also named the Gillespie-Nyholm theory after its two main developers.

Valence Shell elctron Pair repulsion theory is used to predict the geometry of particular molecule from the number of electron pairs surrounding their central atoms.
It means that electron pairs around a central atom tend to orient themselves as far as possible.
