the pressure of a vapour in contact with its liquid or solid form is vapour pressure

ojasvini: how does it affect boiling
ojasvini: please tell
nvsatish: The normal boiling point is the temperature in which the vapour pressure of a liquid becomes equal to atmospheric pressure. If the intermolecular forces are small, the liquid has a high vapour pressure. Little heat energy will have to be added to separate the molecules, so the boiling point will be low.

Hi friend

Here is your answer -:

__________________________

☆ VAPOUR PRESSURE

The pressure exerted by vapour in equilibrium with the solid or liquid phase of the same substance. Also, the partial pressure of the substance in the atmosphere above the solid or the liquid.

☆ VAPOUR PRESSURE AFFECT BOILING BY-:

A liquid boils at a temperature at which its vapor pressure is equal to the pressure of the gas above it. The lower the pressure of a gas above a liquid, the lower the temperature at which the liquid will boil.
