What is variations? What is the importance of variations?
Answers
Answer:
Here comes the role of variation. Variations in species help them to adapt themselves to that particular environment and give them a chance of survival. For example, thermophilic bacteria are variants that are resistant to extreme temperature. They have a chance of survival in high temperate zones while others die.
Variation is the difference in DNA among individuals or the difference between populations.
Importance of variation :-
# Population of organism survive in well defined places or niches using reproduction.
# Body design allow them to survive in that environmental conditions.
# However environmental condition can change all of a sudden resulting in death of population.
# only a few organisms can survive due to variation in their DNA.
for eg : If a population of a bacteria is living in cold water and temperature of water rises due to global warming. Most of the bacteria will die but only a few survive with variation.
# Variation helps in survial of organism.
