Vectors and Scalars are the quantities in physics.

Explanation:

  • Scalars are quantities which can be described by the magnitude (or numerical value) only . Other than magnitude,  no other characteristics are considered in the scalar quantity.
  • Scalar quantities examples are speed, volume, mass, temperature, power, energy, and time.
  • Vectors are quantities which can be completely described by both magnitude and direction.
  • Vectors are invented by Irish physicist William Rowan Hamilton.
  • Vectors can be defined in two or three dimensional space.
  • Examples of vector quantities are force, velocity, momentum, acceleration and displacement.
