Velocity is a vector measurement of an object's rate of motion and the direction it is moving in.

Explanation:

  • A considerable displacement in a short period of time indicates a high velocity, which is measured in distance divided by time units like miles per hour or kilometers per hour.
  • In order to calculate the velocity, we need to know both the magnitude and the direction. For example, if an object travels at 5 meters per second (m/s) westward, its velocity will be 5 m/s westward.
  • The formula for finding Velocity is r = d÷t

where; “r” denotes rate (denotes velocity), “d” denotes the distance that the object covered, and “t” denotes the time taken in order to cover the “d”.
