Velocity(v) = displacement(s) x Time(t)

Velocity is the rate of displacement in unit time

Displacement is not the same as distance.

Take this example:

A person walks around a circular park halfway. If the radius is 7 m then the distance he travelled is 22m but the displacement is 14m

So, displacement is the change in initial position and final position of a body but distance is the whole path that the body covers. It also means, if a body travels around a park 10 times, the distance will be 10 times it's circumference. but it's displacement will be 0 as he ended up where he started.
