Vernier caliper is an instrument used to measure the length of very small objects which we cannot measure it in main scale/normal scale.For example you want to measure the length of a pen and you took a normal scale and measured it's length and you see that it's length is lying between 5cm-5.1cm hence we may approximately say it is 5cm or 5.1cm but can't say the exact length hence vernier caliper is used to measure the accurate length which might come out to be 5.05cm or somewhat like this.
