An erect image is formed by the actual intersection of rays. It is an image in which directions are the same as those in the object, in contrast to an inverted image. In optics, a virtual image is an image formed when the outgoing rays from a point on an object always diverge.

Virtual images are images that are formed in virtual world like inside a mirro. They cannt be formed/projected on a screen. Erect images are images which are not inverted. (i am not sure)
