Virus:

an infective agent that typically consists of a nucleic acid molecule in a protein coat, is too small to be seen by light microscopy, and is able to multiply only within the living cells of a host.

a piece of code which is capable of copying itself and typically has a detrimental effect, such as corrupting the system or destroying data.


Damage:

Viruses affect the body by attacking your cells. They can cause mild to severe symptoms. Viruses can affect only certain cells in your body, like those of your upper respiratory system, causing common cold symptoms. They can affect your whole body.

A computer virus is simply a type of program which causes your computer to act in an undesirable way. Viruses infect certain files and when these are opened the virus will spread throughout your computer.
