human anatomy, in human skeleton system Visceral bones would be those that enclose an organ, mainly the brain,  lungs, liver, stomach, heart; that is the cranium, the ribs, the vertebrae, the sternum. Yet the pelvic girdle encloses the intestines, bladder and other organs, not to mention that bone marrow might be considered an organ.
