organic compounds are prepared naturally not synthetically this theory was known as vital force theory

it was rejected because ammonium cynate was formed by urea in lab or synthetically

This vital force theory was first proposed by Berzilius.

Thus organic compounds were defined to be synthesised or prepared only inside the living organisms.

But this theory came to end when, a scientist named Wholer was successful in synthesising urea in laboratory.
