Waste from homes, factories and other buildings get into the waterbodies and as a result water gets contaminated .

The causes of water pollution vary and may be both natural and anthropogenic. However, the most common causes of water pollutionare the anthropogenic ones, including: Agriculture runoff - carrying fertilizers, pesticides/insecticides/herbicides and otherpollutants into water bodies such as lakes, rivers, ponds).
