Water scarcity means that there is not enough water to satisfy the normal requirements, meaning not everyone could be able to shower, drink tap water etc.

The main causes are as follows:

1. A rapidly increasing population. - As the population grows, there will be more demand for water, thus water scarcity could be a problem.

2. Agricultural activities. - Due to agricultural activities, a lot of water is used, therefore there could be water scarcity if it hasn’t rained for a long time, as the agriculture will use a lot of the available water for crops.

3. Deforestation. - Trees with their roots hold water, without them, the water would keep flowing to the sea instantly.
