Weeds are the unwanted plants which grow along the main plants and compete with water , minerals , nutrients etc. Weedicides are the chemicals which help in killing the weeds which acts like a manure.

Weeding is an important control method practiced in many crops. The removal of weeds is useful because these unwanted plants compete with the crop for space, water and nutrients. ... Weeding also helps to loosen the soil.
