Here's your answer looking for

Work :- work is said to be done if the constant force is acting and if there is a displacement.
The work required mental and muscular effort.

In physics the work is something different from the English one.

If you are standing with a ball in your hand, then it will not set as the work done.
But you will see that hey I did the work even I am tired also.
So let me tell you that according to the Physics, the work is done if there is a force acting in the direction of displacement and the magnitude of displacement.

Mathematically we can represent it by following formula:-

W= F × S

It is a scalar quantity as it has only magnitude.
Its unit is Joules.

It is of three types:-

1). Positive work
2) negative work
3) zero work

Now , what is energy?

Energy :- energy is capacity to do work. It is a quantity that makes the work to be done.

It is also a scalar quantity.

Energy can be of many types:- electrical energy, nuclear energy, solar energy, heat energy, mechanical energy, chemical energy, electromagnetic energy, sound energy, light energy and many more.
