the man is holding the suitcase at the same height above the surface of earth. So the gravitation potential energy remains the same.
workdone is force * displacement = weight * 0 = 0

actually the muscles stretch a little.. so some work is done.

The work done will be zero because for work done there is to be a displacement and here is no displacement so the work done will be zero.
