Lets answer it in some points-----
1. Half of the people in India do not have access to schools, universities, colleges and other educational systems, and, only half of the fraction can go to universities and schools.
This is mainly because of lack of resources and poverty.
2. Indian colleges and universities have limited subjects to take up.
3. There is extreme pressure due to limited seats in education systems which results in intense competition among students.
4. We have few opportunities and flexibilities to cross over in different streams of education and students are pressurised by their parents to take up certain jobs.
These all are the demerits of Indian Education system.
Hope it Helps:)...

Everything which has a +, has a -
Education is a vital part in one's life. But there are many loopholes in our Indian Education System.
1. Education isn't affordable and accessible to many people in the country. These include rural poor, families with limited means, backward classes etc.
2. Indian Education System relies on the fact that 5 mark= 1 page. Although, this concept IS BEING changed, many schools still believe that 5 lines with important keywords and clear concept is not enough for a 5 marker.
3. Indian Education System is a burden on children. Constant high pressure is maintained which is the reason why the stats of students committing suicide is increasing like anything.
4. Majority of Teachers here don't take interest rather they teach for the sake of teaching. A physics professor in Harvard University actually illustrates everything he teaches in order to teach the concept and increase the level of interest of students there. Do Indian Teachers do that?
Last and the most important-
5. Indian Education depends on MUGGING UP. We can't pass the test until and unless we've not mugged up the whole thing the night before. Teacher doesn't accept the RIGHT thing she accepts the BOOK thing. If you've understood something and have written it in your own way, you won't get marks. But if you've written the same thing as it is in your book, Congratulations! You're the next IITian
I am definitely not opposing the Indian Education System but we still can NOT deny the fact that this system demands more amendments.
