Yellow Phosphorous is also called white phosphorous, it is soft waxy solid that can be easily cut with knife. It is poisonous and is highly reactive . It has garlic like odour. The ignition temperature is low (303k) so it easily burns in air. It shows Phosphorescence.
Red phosphorous is hard, crystalline solid, it is not poisonous and is odourless. High ignition temperature (543 k) so it doesn't catch fire easily. It doesn't show Phosphorescence.
