the end of the story leads the reader to be confused to figure out if it was some supernatural doll or not

The story ‘Fritz’ is narrated from the perspective of the character of Shankar.
At the ending, the author has almost left the readers in extreme wonder and let them assume on how it was possible for Fritz to return and if he was actually a human.
There is confusion if he was really back to meet his friend.
The readers here are free to assume their own ending of the story.
The author has done incredible job by providing shocking element at the end.
