Amino acid has a acidic (-Cooh) and basic amino (-NH2) group. ..A proton extract from the -cooh group and it is added in -NH2 group..As a result -cooh and -NH2 groups become coo - and NH3+ ..So Amino acid`s molecule create a inner salt and behave like a diople ion…This is called Zwitter ion.
