Answer:

The fundamental item of diving equipment used by divers is underwater breathing apparatus, such as scuba equipment, and surface supplied diving equipment, but there are other important pieces of equipment that make diving safer, more convenient or more efficient.Gargoors are dome-shaped traps made from galvanized steel; they have a circular supporting base and a funnel- like entrance.

Pearls were considered UAE's oil from the 19th century, and pearl diving was regarded to be a pillar of the economy of the world, a pillar that made a tremendous contribution to growth and development.

Fishing in the Emirates is a varied fishing culture, and a traditional "gargoor" is the most popular equipment used by fishermen to catch them.

Explanation:

In the UAE pearl divers (though pearl hunting was similar to diving into water also known as scuba diving), more equipment was required  for pearling. Divers stone & iron weights,  oyster knives, nose clips, oyster baskets, cotton diving suit. & leather finger protectors.

Pearl divers in UAE used many tools in their job. These include:

  1. Dyyeen: A woven bag  which the diver hung around his/her neck to put the oyster shells in it.
  2. Fattam: A clip that was made from turtle shells which  divers put on their nose to stop the water from entering into their nose.
  3. Yeda: It is a long rope which ties the diver to the boat.

  • Gargoors are "dome-shaped fishing traps" which are uttilised all thorugh the waters of the "Arabian Peninsula".
  • Gargoors are hemispherical, baited "dome-shaped traps/basket-fishing" that are made from "galvanised steel" with a "circular supporting" base & a "funnel-like entrance" with a few models having a back & a "funnel-like entrance".
  • Lost or abandoned Gargoors can cause harm to non-target species & fauna such as sea turtles in phenomena called "ghost fishing". Becasue of thie there are several regulations to be followed in the use of Gargoors
  • Gargoor was also made of date palm That is dome-shape was made from palm (a traditional method). Such date-palm gargoor would disintegrate within a couple of weeks if they were mistakenly left in the water. It avoided the "ghost-fishing" method in which fish are captured accidentally.
