Sri lanka adopted this type of govt. by giving priority to majority rule who were Sinhalese.
Sinhalese were preffered in universities n jobs.
They foster Buddhism..

The Sri Lankan government adopted unitary government. Basically they followed majoriatarionism where they used to dominate the Sri Lankan tamils and were in favour of the sinhalas.

*According to them, sinhalese people could not express their views in any other country other than sri lanka.  So they had to express themselves in their mother land srilanka. That is why srilanka established majoritarinarianism policies.
