The images formed on a cinema screen is a real image.

Now you must be wondering that if they are real then how are they not inverted. Before being displayed on that big white screen they are inverted upside down and hence they appear straight to us.

They are real images because they are being obtained on a screen and this is possible only if the light rays actually meet as in the case of real images.

Although being diverging, they form images because before diverging they are made to meet each other so that image is formed.
